500g Double Kris
1½ tsp salt
10g compressed yeast
1½ tbsp oil
340ml lukewarm water
1 small egg (Lightly beaten for glaze)

- Put sifted flour, salt and yeast into a mixing bowl. Make a well in the center.
- Add the water to the oil, stir and pour into the flour mixture.
- Mix well until dough is formed.
- Knead the dough for 10 to 15 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
- Grease a loaf pan. Shape the dough into a long rectangular piece and place it into the loaf pan.
- Put the pan into a plastic bag and allow to proof for about 1 hour or until the dough doubles in size.
- Brush the surface of the loaf with the beaten egg and bake in a pre-heated oven at 220°C for about 30 to 40 minutes or until loaf turns golden.
- Remove bread from loaf pan and allow it to cool.
