175g Cap Kompang
1½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
1/8 tsp salt
130g margarine
3 eggs
1 tin condensed milk
½ tsp vanilla essence |
- Grease and flour a 20 cm round or square cake pan.
- Mix flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt together.
- Beat margarine until light and fluffy then add in eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add in condensed milk and vanilla essence and beat well.
- Add in sifted flour and mix well until a consistent batter if formed.
- Pour batter into prepared pan. Steam over high heat for 30 minutes. Reduce heat to medium then continue to steam for another 15 minutes or until cake is cooked.
- Remove sponge cake and allow it to cool.
